What the work costs, written down. The first hour is the minimum, after that it is the half hour, and there is no call-out fee on top of any of it. Treat the figures as a guide — some jobs are more work than the heading suggests, and you will hear that before the work starts.

Emergency call-out

Inspection and testing
An EICR is priced on the size of the property rather than the hour. What is actually installed can change that — a flat with two consumer units, a standard one and a second for the Economy 7 circuits, is close to double the testing of one with a single board.

How the charging works
The first hour is the minimum
Every visit is charged at a minimum of one hour. After that, time is billed in half-hour blocks rather than rounded up to the next full hour.
Spare time in the first hour is yours
If the job you called about is finished inside the hour, the electrician will use what is left on anything else you need doing at no extra labour cost. Worth knowing if you have a list of small jobs saved up.
Materials are separate
Parts are charged on top of labour, with a 20% handling charge on anything we supply. The van carries what is commonly needed; anything specialist has to be sourced, and we will arrange a time to come back and fit it.
The figures are a guide
They are where the pricing starts, not a quotation. Some jobs turn out to be more work than the heading suggests — the two-board flat above is one case and there are others — and those cost more than the figure advertised. You will hear that from us before the work starts, never after it.
